1985 Party Popple — pouch still works, Popples logo patch and both sides of the original tag intact
An original-run Party Popple from the 1985 Mattel and American Greetings line — pink plush body, shocking magenta hair, a lavender-grey muzzle, big blue eyes, cream-lined ears and a large cream pom on the end of the tail.
The oversized reversible pouch is intact and still works, so Party still tucks away into the ball shape a Popple is supposed to make — the photos show it both ways. The round Popples logo patch is still sewn to the pouch, and the original tag is still attached and fully readable: ©1985 American Greetings Corp., Mattel, Inc., Hawthorne, CA, made in Korea, with the washing instructions still legible on the reverse side.
Honest condition: complete. Eyes, muzzle, ears, pouch, tail, pom, logo patch and both sides of the original tag are all there. The pink has faded unevenly with age — lighter in some places, still bright in others — and the fur has flattened where it has been handled and stored. No tears, no open seams, nothing missing that I can find. Not cleaned; sold as found and as photographed.
